Founded in 1997, the Stern & Tisch Entertainment Business Association’s mission is to develop a diverse community of talented NYU students interested in the entertainment industry. STEBA provides a forum for student interactions with industry professionals, a platform for learning to navigate the industr(ies), the opportunity for students to gain the professional skills to succeed in entertainment, as well as the chance to connect with similarly-aligned peers. Through our professional panels, social events, and skills-development programs, STEBA offers a unique advantage to students pursuing careers in film, television, music, sports, games, publishing, talent, and more.

MENTORSHIP

The STEBA Mentorship Program matches qualified student peer mentors in the entertainment industry with young students to offer career advice, academic advancement, and social development. Your mentor won't be an uptight judge; they'll be a college student just like you! They'll help you fix your resume, share their contacts, give you career advice, and even kick back and get ice cream with you.

Each semester, the Mentorship Program also features a capstone presentation, where mentees work in smaller groups to build a pitch presentation relating to their industry interests — such as film, TV, music, and sports.

We look for new mentors and mentees at the beginning of each semester, so be sure to look out for updates in our email newsletter!

Programming

Our events include professional programs featuring industry professionals, creatives, and recruiters from major entertainment companies; social programs to cultivate community; and skills-development workshops.
